I have had my mirena coil in now for eight years in total!!!! I put my misery and bad moods down to life, kids, divorce etc.I have almost cried with breast tenderness, but thought hey at least i dont suffer periods anymore. My weight had been up and down since having the kids and not long after having the mirena inserted i did go on a web site and read up and there wasnt as much info then but some did say caused weight gain, but as you do you think I'll be careful and keep an eye on it. 8 years on I am now 4 stone heavier!! The hip and the lower back pain I put down to the weight I've gained, the neck and shoulder pain I put down to just being unlucky in having this and the physio has said I will probably always suffer with pain in that area, which at times has prevented me getting on with life. My partner underwent a vasectomy in August as i just wanted to be hormone free. I wish Id found this site sooner and not really sure why I came looking for it as I'm hopefully getting the coil removed very soon. My problem noe is I had a coil check 4 months ago and they couldnt find the strings, Ive been waitng 4 months for the ultra sound, keep ringing as I WANT THIS ALIEN OUT OF ME.I will give this website to my doctor, I've suffered and made other peoples life a misery for 8 years this shouldnt happen. I'll let you know how i get on after its been removed. Thankyou all for making me see Im not a wicked witch. x x
