Geotrichum mold identified in sputum

So I've been having recurring bronchitis, starting with a MRSA infection in August of last year and lots of Antibiotics since then. I don't know if this is candida-related or not. But I'm posting it here and elsewhere as well to get some ideas.

The infectious disease specialist did a fungal culture on my sputum, and after 6 weeks it shows that "geotrichum species" was identified. From what I'm told and have read, this is something that is seemingly all around us in our environment. It can become invasive in humans, but the doctor doesn't think it is in me because I don't have HIV, and my blood tests show elevated eosinophils, IGG subclass 1, and IGE. So it seems that that my immune system is working fine--my levels aren't depressed, but instead elevated. On a side note, my red blood cells are also elevated.

Anyone ever deal with this before? The doctors statement about it not likely being invasive in me makes sense, since my immune system seems to be OK on paper, I've never had chemotherapy or anything like that, and don't have HIV.

They prescribed me a pack of 6-day steroids to see if that helps my body get over whatever it is reacting to. I'm giving it a shot to see if it works. I'm also consuming lots of garlic when I remember, vitamin c, and astragalus. They also want me to go see a pulmonologist.
