I am a bit bummed even though I have been on Coumadin ( I take the Warfarin Sodium version ) for about 22 years since I was around 6 years old. I have a mechanical heart valve ( St. Jude’s ); as I have heart related issues predominantly hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy. I know my son lost alot of motivation at the age of 13. I was going thru chemo then and had no energy to fight his battle with an algebra teacher. His grades fell. 69 is a F at his old school. So he went from B to F. Put him out of the challenge program. I don’t know how to get them motivated again. Sometimes we have to listen closely and maybe even find out something they really like. Maybe some type of nice reward for improvement. Clothes are a good reward for teen girls. Keep the faith! My daughter is 18 and she has been a blessing. She had some rebelious days mostly sassy when she was 11-13. She has had lots of restrictions but she knew what they were and they were set in cement and there was no way around them. Some where no dances until she was 14. Not dating until 16. No sleeveless prom dresses. No boys in bedroom. No just dropping off at the movie theater on friday night. I think if kids know their limits it gives them structure.
