Blog: Breaking free from chains of my past

How do I envision my life after the chains?

11. The goal at the end of the day is to imbue myself with positive energy, where the togetherness with God in this elevated peace allows me to connect with him as one. This way his teachings will be more coherent and his voice clearer above all the noise in my brain.

“Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower”
Albert Camus quotes (French Novelist, Essayist and Playwright, 1957 Nobel Prize for Literature, 1913-1960)

Although I may be still a baby at truly figuring what will work and what will not, it is time to pen several hopes for the future. Currently, only one word prints on mind--emancipation. But what is my brand of emancipation?

I am an autumn lover; colourful foliage and romantic atmosphere, I love them all. I will use my concept of seasons to outline basic concepts of what I know for sure and how these for-sures can weave a path of future hopes. Here is my favourite poem:

Ode to Autumn

SEASON of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees, 5
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease; 10
For Summer has o'erbrimm'd their clammy cells.

Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind; 15
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drowsed with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twinèd flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook; 20
Or by a cyder-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings, hours by hours.

Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,—
While barrèd clouds bloom the soft-dying day 25
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river-sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn; 30
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The redbreast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.

My Concepts of time
1.Time is made up of moments/periods. Time is regular and rigid while moments are irregular and dynamic. ie. the period of puberty, moment of sickness, moment of salvation
2. Time cannot be bought or sold, created or destroyed. Moments too, but moments are divine gifts--mysteries I am too small to comprehend.
3. People are on a race with time. With moments, I don't have to be because moments were created for me by God--with a purpose. It is foolhardy to chase after and return to moments that aren't meant to be then.
4. Moments are lined up like seasons. You have to pass through from one season to another,without skipping, to get from one end of the cycle to another.
5. Just as every season has a story, every moment has its story. A story of life, made up a comedy and a tragedy.
6. Every story carries a lesson.
7. The moment we are in is called present. The moment we came from was the past. The moment we are walking to is future.
8. We keep our minds focused on the now, our eyes on the future and capture the past in our journals and memories.
9. By doing this, now receives undivided attention for appreciation, rapture and toil. Future spurs our diligence and dissolves weariness. Past piques curiosity and gives us a manual where we can heed important experiences and mistakes.
10.What do I do when I get caught in a jam? a)If it is mental knot, then travelling back into the past will serve me well. b) If it is congestion of a different sort of human aspect, don't complain for a good temper preserves positive energy; don't demand patience and let anxiety grow with the increasingly ear-straning ticks of the clock, hence wasting vital energy; seize the "hiccup" in time (the "hiccup" moment") to indulge in the stories of the past, as a gentle reminder of how far you have come and far more you can go.
11. The goal at the end of the day is to imbue myself with positive energy, where the togetherness with God in this elevated peace allows me to connect with him as one. This way his teachings will be more coherent and his voice clearer above all the noise in my brain.
12. Winter is my past, spring is my present and I await the arrival of autumn--the truest beauty, the finale, the perfect.
