Days 1-4
by Misticle 7 y
This is my first time blogging and my first time fasting. I am doing this mostly to keep track of my results and to help me reach my goal, but if anyone else is inspired by my journey that would be amazing. I am a 5’4” 38 year old Female. My beginning weight is 341.1 pounds and my pant size is a snug 26. My goal weight is 160 pounds and I am beginning with a 40 day fast. I hope to lose 50 pounds the first round. I started the blog late so I will be recounting my experience from the last 3 days leading to today. Feel free to leave a comment. If I know someone is reading it will keep me ac ...

Thank you for that. It helps to hear from others with experience. I actually only want to get down to 160 which is still overweight for me but I prefer a little weight so hopefully I won’t experience the lag. Congratulations on your results so far! I hope you reach your goals soon.

Congratulations on taking this step! I am going into day 5 myself. I started a blog of my daily experiences if you are interested in reading it. I find it very helpful to see how others are doing. I would like to follow your progress as you are not far behind me in the fast.

After reading again I have a better understanding of what you are saying. I apologize. 2 year old twins are sometimes distracting lol. So if I were to reach my recommended weight and slowly regain to the weight I prefer would that be sustainable in your opinion?

Thank you. This site helps me so much. Encouragement and others’ experiences make me feel like I can make it. If someone had told me last week they I would be fasting for any amount of time I would have had them committed. So this is quite surprising for me and I feel very grateful to have found this site. 35 more days sometimes seems like a very long time.

Thank God I’m a woman! 7 percent body fat send a hard goal. It’s a bit disappointing that I can’t stop at 160 since I prefer to be more curvy. But anything is better than what I am now so I will carry on.
I am wondering something. Maybe you can help. If digestion ceases after 2 or 3 days, why would I experience stomach growling today (day 5)? It’s the first time it has done it since day one and I am a bit confused by it.

I hope you feel better soon. Good job making pushing through despite your symptoms.
I noticed you mentioned brushing without toothpaste. Does toothpaste interfere with the fasting process? I haven’t heard that but I have been wondering.

Sorry to butt in but I’ve been looking for someone with dry fast experience. I did it a couple of days ago but at 40 hours I couldn’t handle not showering any longer. Otherwise I could have gone longer. Now I’m doing 18 dry and 6 water a day but would like to do more long term. Do you have any advice on how to deal with the shower aspect?

Before I get into my day, I want to say that I also have acne and adhd. One would think I would grow out of these things but nope. I was actually not diagnosed with adhd until I was 30. My acne is remarkably better than it was in adolescence but it’s still a problem I don’t want. I also have horribly heavy menstruation with back pains so badi feel as though I’m breaking in half. I’m hoping fasting will help these problems along with my FAS (fat ass syndrome). I also quit smoking a year ago. I smoked for 20 years and want to cleanse the crap out of my lungs. Otherwise I’m fairly healthy fo ...

I’m on day 6 of my fast and have lost 10 pounds now so I’m definitely feeling better about it. I started to wonder if maybe most people lose water weight in the first few days. Since I was already following a ketogenic diet, is it possible I just didn’t have much water weight to lose?

Before I get started, there are a couple
of things I have been forgetting to mention. The bad breath and the white coating on the tongue. I’m not sure exactly when it started but it was fairly soon, maybe day 2.
DAY 5: 330.2 lbs
I had some problems sleeping last night but it was much better than the previous nights. I woke up feeling a good bit better this morning with little weakness and a bit more energy. When I weighed I felt even better. 10 pounds in less than a week seems too good to be true. I cooked for the kids and had no temptation whatsoever. It was like my body gave up o ...

Thank you. That was my suspicion as long as I’m understanding you correctly lol. My brain seems to be going from great clarity to immense fog and right now its in the fog. So would it be safe to assume that my loss is real weight then?

Day 7: 228 lbs
I don’t have much energy to do this tonight so please forgive any typos as I probably won’t take the time to proof read. Last night was about the same as the night before. Better than the beginning but still not the best. I also had horrible dreams. I woke up feeling pretty good but little things still wear me down. I felt it was a little better though. I had feelings of hunger off and on. I thought that was supposed to be long gone by now. Not as irritable today. My breath is a good bit better although its still not pleasant. Tongue is still white. I didn’t Care when I ...

Day 8: 327.2
I didn’t get much sleep last night. Mostly from the horrible itching I started having all over my body. And the nausea. That along with yesterday’s symptoms leads me to believe I was having a health crisis. It’s a wonderful thing... After the misery is gone. i woke up feeling soooo much better. And the acne on my face is clearing. My face actually had a pinkish glow this morning instead of the grayish color it had been. last night I was ready to go buy my food to break the fast and end it. But this morning I felt like I could do this forever. I was tired, but in a normal n ...

Congratulations on making it to the end! Your results are amazing. I hope you feel well enough to break soon as I know you at ready. I still have 30 days left on mind and I hope I can be as strong as you bc the last couple of days have been pretty rough. I hope you thoroughly enjoy your first ”meal” and I hope it comes very soon!

Day 9: 326.2
I could not update last night like I normally do. I felt horrible and had no energy left. When i woke up I felt ok. Was able to cook and clean without much difficulty. Around 3pm I started feeling tired. About 4:30 there was an incident lasting 3 hours that was very stressful. By the time it was over I felt I had nothing left. I forced my way through feeding the kids, bathing them, and putting them to bed and took an extra long stress relieving bath. I was nauseous and had horrible acid reflux. I had slight pains where my gall bladder used to be and searing pains in the are ...
