I had Legionnaire’s disease this summer. July 23rd my skin felt sensitive. On the 24th I started dry heaving. I stayed in bed for 3 days, dry heaving all this time, I finally went to the hospital. By now I was coughing up blood and becoming very weak. I remember them taking xrays, then it becomes blank. Hello, I’m posting to try to get opinions from people who have been positively diagnosed with Legionnaires disease. The reason is that I’ve been told by my doctor that I may have it yet I’m not sure if the disease fits my symptoms. Here’s my story in brief: I went abroad to the states for two weeks in January. Just remember, touching, caring, love and sharing.. Living life NOW with out fear of negative issues, and keeping him from same, goes a long ways in healing. Laughing is one of natures best self healers. Notice the little things you can do for him. (folks forget how crappy one can feel when they just need face and neck washed, hair brushed and gently touched, or feet and hands massaged with a fragrance oil he likes.. these are important reflexology healings too btw. Just a quick note to let you guys know that Dill is awake. They began the long process Friday and he is OK now. He is being called ”Miracle Man.” He has been moved out of ICU into a private room and he is expected to regain 10% of his strength per day. Hello Paulette, I am sorry to hear that your husband had to fight Legionella pneumophila. It is a ”common” infection here in Norway, where there are many water heaters, and many cooling towers. Almost every year, there is an outbreak, usually linked to one specific tower and one specific strain. People infected were people walking not far away from that tower. The bacteria develops in any standing hot water, like cooling towers and water heaters where water temperature is hot and more or less constant. Hey! My husband has been diagnosed with Legionnaire’s Disease. Anyone have first hand knowledge or experience with this disease?
