I suspect that today, many are using WinDoze which is probably one of the worst OS’s that could be found. What you’ve described is a rash of pop-ups. Consider beefing up your internet security methods. An external firewall would probably help but may also be more work/trouble than what you bargain for....hard to say since I’m not sure just how much you are willing to bargain for. For whatever the reasons that be, the global computer culture somehow settled on unsolicited porn being one of the most typical sources behind popup storms. I’m not too computer literate but can someone tell me why when browsing the net and I click on something all of a sudden hundreds of pages flash in succession in seconds. Is this a virus? Thanks Blueduck. A tech at my ISP warned me about the version that does everything. He did recommend the Anti virus only version. Any thoughts about that? In an unrelated issue, he also recommended a free version of spyware called ”Spybot” after I told him that lately I had been deluged with Popups even though I had a Popup killer installed on my machine. I downloaded it 3 days ago and the thing identified about a dozen programs (cookies) that had been put on my machine to track my travels and provide advertisement access to my machine.
