Many completely normal babies are not interested in solids until late in the first year. Follow your baby's cues. I think sometimes when we hear that 6 month mark, we think our babies need to be eating lots of solid foods. Some this is perceived as a developmenatl milestone in the child's life. (Baby reaching milestones early = smart baby. Wrong. It's a journey not a race! Follow your instincts. The truth is that many baby's, if nursed enough, do fine with only breastmilk and unless the baby is really anemic, there is no need to worry. Often times it is pushed to give inferior foods (solids) to replace superior foods (breastmilk) because of the pressure from well meaning people who are not completely familiar with normal nursing babies.
