Re: Alan Greenspan Admits

Sure, there are more than a few reasons
this war was started. I was in Fayetteville,
North Carolina, where Fort Bragg is, being a
nanny for a military family, and remember
sitting in a room with more than a few women,
Army soldiers, and the announcement came they
were being called up to deploy to the *operation*
Iraqi Freedom. They had been expecting it and
of course, at that time, the women were saying,
oh, they expect this to be 2 weeks, a month, no
more. I said, HA~! look for it lasting over a
year. Then within days the looting began; local,
corporate, and administrative levels, to say
the least.

It makes me wonder what it will take to put
this war cat back in a bag, since even if we
leave, we have left in place people I would prefer
not represent me. Of course, little notice
was given the declaration on friday that we would
probably be there permanently, in however much capacity
they divy up.

I sure wish they would go after Mugabe who is
all the despot Saddam was and worse. The suffering
he has wrought makes Saddam look mild. Its
genocide, but looking back, genocide has always
been that dark side of humanity, or lack of it.

Some say that by not being prepared, and other perhaps
ill-chosen choices, we are seeing genocide in Iraq.
As a mother, and a human, my heart aches, and I
do pray every day for those dying...and those being
born into the world we have held in trust for them.

blessings,
Zoe
