I know this post is ancient, but I feel compelled to reply to Fil who suggests that stools should not float.

This is wrong. Healthy stools float. Floating stools indicate that the intestinal tract has sufficient healthy bacteria needed to break down fats into short-chain fatty acids. A sinking stool indicates poor digestion, and a build-up of toxins in the system.

A google search, let alone a consultation with an TCM or Ayurvedic practitioner will verify my statements.
