Not sure how to test if I have it or not...

I'm a 27 year old male. About 2 years ago I was with a girl who later admitted to me that she had herpes. We always used a condom, but there were several instances where I played around inside her with my fingers. She assured me that it would be extremely rare to contract it via my fingers, but I am concerned about something. For the past few months, I've started noticing on my index finger, I keep getting some kind of non-itchy blister/welt that shows up, then after I try to get rid of it, it always heals and comes back shortly after. I was wondering if this could possibly be related, and if there was a way to test men for herpes. From what I understand, it is relatively untracable in men, and I want to make sure that I am responsible about this if I did indeed contract something. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
