Oh yes, I do know those ear candles quite well. I trained my daughter when she was only around 12 or 13 yrs old how to use them on me, and she was a pro, and yes, they worked wonders. I was always amazed by the results. Haven't done one in many years, though. My daughter refused to let me use them on her since my first attempt, I almost literally set some of her hair on fire with the thing. Sad commentary that a 12 yr old was more skilled in ear coning than an adult!

The parasite that you passed sounds gruesome, Andy. But I'm sure with continued persistence, you will not only get there, but be of great help to other's who are also suffering similar circumstances online here.

As far as getting your dr. to stand by you and help you with this: I think we are being forced to go it alone w/o the aid or guidance of the majority of doctors that are out there. I can't understand this, since it's so vastly obvious at this point just from first hand experience and also seeing all the many posts on here just how bothersome and seriously widespread this problem is in reality.
