Re: also, what is your diet like?
Hi Amato,
I think it depends on why you have Colitis. I was on
Antibiotics for two years. I think that's why the
Fecal Transplantation worked.
As for diet, I revamped my diet completely when I got Colitis. At the time, I was drinking and eating mostly fats--fructose milk teas, chocolate cookies, and chocolate. My changed diet did not stop my bleeding though. It was the
Fecal Transplantation that halted my bleeding and immediately put me in remission. But my changed diet does keep me diarrhea and gas free now that I'm in remission. I eat more protein and carbohydrates now. I drink only water. And I limit foods that contain lactose and fructose. Although I plan to start gradually eating more lactose and fructose foods once my colon becomes stronger. My doctor said my colon looked like dog meat back in late December/early January, so I figure I should give my colon a year to recover before eating foods high in lactose and fructose again. I don't have any issues with eating wheat. I eat a lot of breads and noodles.
I also take vitamins, listen to healing hypnosis tapes, and practice breathing deeply by first exhaling deeply and then inhaling. I find that these, while not enough to stop Colitis, help keep me diarrhea and gas free now that I'm in remission.
