Re: Liver protection for longterm painkiller regimen

I wouldn't feel right about giving you advice on how to protect your liver while taking vicodan, percoset, and oxycontin.  If you did not know, the purpose of this site is Educating Instead of Medicating.

Addiction could be more of a probability than a possibility, physical, as well as, psychological.

You say you know these pain killers are bad stuff and you have educated yourselves on that topic.  If so, you must be pretty frightened.

I know drugs are necessary at times, but there are other more natural, less harmful, ways to try and curtail long term chronic pain.  They may not be easy, and it may involve a lot of trial and error, and there is always the very slight possibility they won't work.  But, the alternative seems more bleak.  You are at least concerned about the damage narcotic pain killers cause or you wouldn't be here.  This subject is not my area of expertise, so hopefully the others jump in and advise you, if you are open to that advice.

Here is a good website I found:  http://jerrymondo.tripod.com/nsaids/id8.html
