Sorry to hear about the accident. You are very lucky it wasn't worse. I certainly would take the Antibiotics . I personally think people tend to overestimate how much damage they do to us, epecially if not overused. I use them occasionally in a pinch if I have to. Two years ago I got my fingertip caught in the door when I was slamming it shut. It was about 0 degrees out and it killed. It immediately started swelling and becoming black and blue. I needed to keep it raised above my head to keep the throbbing down. I ended up losing my nail a few days later. Anyway, I went to the hospital and they gave me a shot of novacane in my finger with one of those really big needles. I lost all sensation in my finger for close to 24 hours. It enabled me to get some sleep that first night. After it wore off the pain was tolerable. Without that shot I don't think I would have slept for two days. If your pain gets bad enough I would look into that. I don't think one shot of novacane will cause any lasting damage. Tweet
