Re: Question for all

I think empathy is what separates those who live for things from those who serve others... For me... I once upon a time thought less of homeless people...but then I was homeless... What an eye opener... It seems that empathy is a switch we turn on once we figure out that we may be separate from others but we are all part of the same organism. What hurts another somehow hurts us as well. It doesn't mean we should embrace another's sickness but rather... out of the fullness of what is healthy in us... make a healthier organism. Some of us embrace our broken nature though and want to be challenged by our injuries... In our injury there may be a gift of learning that we need. I for one am tired of being injured... I am trying to stay in tune with where I am supposed to be to avoid the train wrecks of life. Serving others keeps me out of trouble most times but I am a hard case...
