Re: Clinical Studies/Research
I am so sorry that you were treated like that!! And I can also say that there was probably someone in that clinal setting who would have known what you were talking about, but couldn't have supported you anyway, or could have lost there job/been ridiculed just like you.
People should be able to be honest with their doctors and tell them what's going on without the threat of psychiatric meds, etc. And RN's like me should be able to advocate and stick up for their patients without being threatened for "practicing outside of our legally designated duties".
Doctors pay outrageous prices for insurance, because someone can always sue them because they make the decisions, call the shots, etc. Well, if clinical evidence supports their decisions, they can more easily prescribe those therapies and be covered by their insurance. But hardly any clinical evidence exists for natural therapies, so even the doctor is limited. One sue-happy patient can take em to the cleaners and lose the license without that research in place. I'm rambling now and a little angry. Im sorry for what happened to you, we need more support out there,
and my dying cancer patients need more choices too. There's a cancer info desk in my hospital that will gladly search out clinical data for the patients looking for alternative ways to treat their cancer and guess what, hardly any exists so they go and get pumped full of more chemicals and just see what happens. it sucks and the research needs to be done before things will change. The doc(s) will follow suit only then. They're not all evil, most are just followers.
