Is it asperger's or is my teen just fed up and shutting down

My teen was in and out of hospital, basically pushed into
taking meds, since 9 months not in hospital, off meds, only
on natural vitamins, etc., but 3 months ago started showing
signs of autism spectrum disorder (could be) not much eye
contact, hardly talking, often not even answering

could it be she just does not want to talk (wants to be left alone)?
when she does talk, which is seldom, a sentence may come out quite
