Re: I'm confused/anxious about B.A.R.F. vs. Raw Meaty Bones diet
I'd be nervous not to feed raw, meaty bones .. funny huh?
I think research is the key, read, read and read more. Until you feel satisfied that the BARF diet is the way forward, don't do it.
I have a BARF blog if you're interested:
//www.curezone.org/blogs/f.asp?f=731&t=17705
and I would read posts by critterskids who gave some wonderful links about raw meaty bones.
For me, it makes me happy to feed my dog BARF because my research tells me that his digestive tract is like that of a wolf or hyena and that those wild dogs rarely get the diseases that dogs living on commercial and cooked foods do.
Do what you're most comfortable with right now and change when you are more comfortable with something else. You are your own judge.
Love is the main prescription for a happy dog, everything else is secondary.
P.S. Get hold of a raw organic chicken wing bone, try and bend it with your hands. Tell me how fragile it is, compared to a cooked chicken wing bone. That exercise may tell you something.
