The body is complex. I wouldn't think that adding acid would necessarily make it more acidic. Other than that I don't have a clue about the biochemical effects of ascorbic acid. Jay Foster recommends taking ascorbate rather than ascorbic acid. He also says taking higher amounts is fine especially if we are under stress. Stress depletes vitamin c reserves. Tweet
