Re: Tapeworm and dangers of empirical treatment

No small coincidence probably that our liver is the only organ with the ability to regenerate. Perhaps mother nature knows something that we don't or that we (medical community) refuse to acknowledge. The liver is essentially the waste basket of the body, or at least of all of the "dirty" organs, urinary and digestive system. Is it any accident that the liver actively strains out parasites from our blood to essentially spare the rest of our body? Sounds kind of like the sacrificial lamb. Makes you wonder also, in light of this, how safe is it REALLY to be eating liver, considering the relative risk, could it ever be worth it?
