Re: need your help!

Vanessa, I will share with you how I maintain my weight.

I eat:
Cultured dairy products: Goat yogurt and kefir from whole milk. Cultures whole cow milk is fine also if you can digest it. I can't.

Healthy fats: Coconut oil, flax seed oil, butter, seeds, nuts, olive oil. (Only use coconut oil for cooking,)

Meat from organic grass-fed, free range cattle, sheep, goat, chicken. Wild caught fish. (Salmon, sardines...)

Eggs from free range chickens.

Fruits and vegetables. If you have a tendency to gain weight stay away from high starch vegetables like potatoes. (Eat starchy vegetables at the end of the meal if you must eat them.)

I also fast once a week. From noon Wednesday to noon on Thursday. Sometimes I skip suppper.

What I do not eat:

Soda
White flour (if you have a weight problem stay away from all grains)
White sugar
Fast foods
Processed foods

Eat organic when possible. If you must eat out skip the bread and dessert. Eat the meat and steamed vegetables.

Eating fat is not the reason people get fat. Too many refined carbohydrates is usually the reason.

Eating protein supports weight loss.

Drink green drinks. I like Perfect foods, my husband likes SuperFoods. The foods you eat should be nutrient dense. No junk food.

The Seven Truths About Obesity by obesity specialist Gus Prosch Jr,. M.D.
(as written in the book "The Great Physician's Rx for Weight Loss.")
I don't mean to imply that you are obese.

1. If you're obese, you have a lifetime disease.
2. Your metabolic process will always tend to be abnormal
3. You cannot eat what others eat and stay thin.
4. Anyone can lose weight and stay slim provided the cause of weight gain
are determined, addressed, and corrected.
5. Understanding insulin metabolism is the key to losing weight intelligently.
6.There is absolutely no physiological requirements for Sugar or processed
foods in your diet.
7.You cannot lose weight and keep it off successfully by strictly and solely
following any special diet, by taking a weight-loss pill, or by following
an exercise program. To succeed, you must address all the contributing factors
causing obesity. And you must make exercise and physical activity a lifetime
effort.

Wishing you success in all that you do!

P.S. This is from the book "Fasting and Eating for Health" by Joel Fuhrman, M.D.
If a person is overweight and has a tendency to gain weight easily, he or she should eat very carefully after the fast. These individuals should eat only raw fruits and vegetables with the addition of some lightly steamed green vegetables for 2 or 3 weeks. Since their metabolic rate is low for the first month after the fast., we emphasize raw foods over cooked carbohydrates, as this will prevent possible weight gain during this postfast period.
