REGATTA: The Red Green Regatta on the Chena River is to take place today, starting at 11 a.m. at the Graehl Boat Landing. I look forward to judging it again, along with Jo Heckman, Patty Kastelic, Lanien Livingston, John Binkley and Dr. Phyllis Pendergrast in a boat driven by Chuck Lemke, who must be a regatta admiral by now.
A high point in regatta history occurred two years ago when the Salvation Army entry, on which the band played “Neared My God to Thee,” sprang a leak and went down near the power plant.
