Katie, this formula has cascara sagrada, which also causes a bowel dependence like senna, but it doesn't cause cramping. And I was reading in Peter Glickman's book that you should not take capsules during the MC, because your body will digest them, which contradicts the whole point of the MC, to stop digestion energy so that your body can use that energy on repairing itself.
