According to Dr. Robert O. Becker, in the "Body Electric", it is the positive terminal that kills cells while the negative terminal causes growth and healing.

As for the validity of this, when I have observed motile protozoa under the microscope they have tried to migrate away from the positive electrode and toward the negative electrode whenever power is applied.

I also noted that the ones closest to the positive electrode died fastest.

I also noticed, that some species were killed almost immediately and that some took up to 7 or 8 minutes to kill.
