It is not corn, nor wholegrain corn. It's a small grain cereal grown in places where the weather is rather dry, in particular in some places in subsaharan Africa.
In most of the bio foodstores where I live--Paris, France--one can find whole rice cakes mixed with all kinds of exotic, unusual cereals--millet, quinoa, buckwheat, etc.
look for those, they are tasty and no cooking/no fuss.
