Well, I had not thought of that. My point earlier had to do with the fact that when my girls don't behave my way, it's about me, not them. So maybe I am the one who needs to try it...

I really believe that we know when our kids are ready for this or that. A lot of my potty-training anxiety had nothing to do with where the girls were or were not with it, but specifically around the fact that my friend's two-y.o. boy was diaper-free by 2 and I admire her and instantly felt that my girls needed to be just like her little one.

I followed her advice and suggestions, but it became clear to me that my girls are just not at a point of interest, and that to force them to engage in a struggle -- well, that seems like the thing that could later produce problems that would definitely require something like EFT! They simply love to mimic what I do, but the fact that they did not want to mimic Mommy using the big potty! And I finally saw that for what it was -- a lack of readiness.

A big challenge of motherhood for me is to strike a loving balance between my hopes/expectations and their abilities...if they were 5 I would be pretty panicked, but at two or three, there is definitely some wiggle room!

Thanks so much for the suggestion, and I will definitely keep it in mind for anything that I think EFT might be needed for, so to speak.
