my ovarian cyst ruptured, now what?

Hello Ladies,

I believe my ovarian cyst ruptured. Doctor warned me it might happen. I don't have insurance right now but did call him since he diagnosed this cyst almost a year ago.

He said I'll be in pain for a few days and should take it easy. Called in a script for Tramadol, in case I needed it.

It's been 6 days now, and my pain is gone about 10% of the time, bend-over excrutiating about 20% of the time, and the rest of the time just tender, area is hard to the touch.

Can you please tell me what to expect? How long will this pain REALLY last?

And I don't understand - why IS there pain in the first place? I mean, the cyst is now gone! What IS it actually that hurts in there?

Also, what happens to the cyst "sack" now? Will it just stay there? Or dissolve? Or get loose and somehow come out?
