Re: I use tea tree oil skinwash but...

Oiliness is asociated with sebum production, the body's way of keeping the skin lubricated, so over-washing or failing to add moisture back into the skin after washing can cause over production of sebum to re-hydrate the skin. Over-production of sebum can also be associated with a rise in testosterone levels so trying to balance out hormone levels within the body can help. This can be achieved through diet (removing dairy & soya which conatin high levels of hormones) and cutting down on red meats which may be affected by hormones injected into the animal at some point. I also take maca powder in a banana and rice milk smoothie to balance out hormones around my period, so although I'm assuming you're male from your username, this may help.

To help remove blackheads, steam face over a bowl of hot water (with a drop of tea tree oil in if you like) for several minutes, apply a paste of bicarbonate of soda, water and a little apple cider vinegar for 5-10 minutes then rinse with warm water. Finish by applying a cold flannel to the face for several minutes to close the pores. After doing this routine a few times a week you should see reduction in pore size and fewer blackheads as the steaming will open pores for the bicarb mask to flush out the dirt and bacteria. Never squeeze blackheads (unless done professionally) as squeezing can damage the delicate collagen structure of the pore and cause more bacteria to enter.

Glad to hear the tea tree wash has helped clear your skin, simplicity is definately the key when it comes to problem skin. And if there can be a benefit to having oily skin...you get far fewer wrinkles!

Good luck with the bicarb regime or anything else you find helps :)
