Consider even the concept of "pre-med"

Let us consider the people who are not yet doctors. They are "pre-med" in their University. They are taking the typical classes all students take, plus more Science classes. They aren't actually taking ANY medical classes yet, nor have they even been accepted into med school. And let us also keep in mind that people don't "know everything" when they graduate med school, or for that matter, they NEVER "know everything."
Yet SOMEHOW, when people say "I'm pre-med," everyone else is soooo impressed. "Wow!"
And people will take their opinions seriously, and take the health/dietary advice some of them go ahead and dispense. "You should drink skim milk, it's good for your bones and that way you can avoid heart disease." "I use splenda instead of Sugar now, it's so much healthier." HELLO, all these people have done is get into college. I sure wouldn't take advice from them. I am not impressed!

But in the mind of the student, they are VERY IMPORTANT and smart and impressed with themselves - and this is also how many others perceive them.

Would I want some college sophmore intending to become a lawyer to represent me in a legal matter? NO. They don't know anything yet!

I consider "pre-med" to more appropriately stand for premeditated murder! Tweet
