Steak does taste better with butter for sure. But I often add crushed garlic and/or sliced onions a few minutes before the end of the cooking time. Just enough to cook the garlic/onion but it soaks into the steak as well. Then just serve the steak and tip the rest of the garlic/onions from the pan over it. NOthing fancy but it tastes delicious. Butter, garlic and/or onions go very well with it :-D
