Re: 'Floaters' [structures reported seen by patients in interference with the visual field]

I've been suffering from terrible "floaters" for over four years now. They irritate my eyes terribly, my eyes get puffy and red. I have dark circles under the eyes too. I always look tired.

It's quite difficult to describe but when I move my eyes about I see strange thread-like things cross my vision. BUT WHEN LOOKING AT A BRIGHT BACKGROUND I SEE THINGS MORE CLEARLY!! They are like tiny, worm-like things. I can see the entire "worm". Throughout the "body" there are circle like "segments". When gently wiping the eye to clear my vision they are "stringly, clear/white in colour and elastic in texture. My vision can be very blurry because of them and my eyes can have pain too. When my eyes feel particularly bad and I see many of these wormy things the white of my eyes are very dark, almost gray in colour, very dull looking. There is sometimes some kind of thin layer of mucus in my eyes in which these things easily move about in.

That how best I describe my eye "floaters". In my opinion, they are some sort of parasite.
