We need more affection, not less!

Unfortunately, this appears to be an instance of a state over-reacting to a long history of improper sexual traditions among the Appalachian mountain families where, for example, it has not been that uncommon to see the eldest daughter take the place and the bed of the mother in the event of the mother's death.

While one can see how it would be easy to over-react, it is to me a tragic crime against nature to deny a father and daughter loving non-sexual affection for one another. And that goes for laws as well as uptight families where an occasional hug and affirmation of love might mean the difference later on in life between a joyful, functional adult and an emotional cripple.

Our families, and our world, need more holding hands and hugs - not less!
