Yes, my skin is already glowing. I do drink kefir and think it is totally fabulous. Haven't tried raw okra, I'm taking psyllium to help soak up the toxins.

My understanding is that a metal detox takes time and at times you feel worse instead of better, so I consider this more of a long term project and not an instant fix.

I think you are on the right track. Supposedly the best Lugols is USP or the higher reagent grade. There is an article somewhere that lists the grades. I ordered from the Science company, then before it came, found a big bottle locally. I went to a "natural and compounding pharmacy" and asked for lugol's, they didn't think they had any, but went to the back and found a big bottle which I bought for a very reasonable price.
