Re: --Too much or not enough ?--
Understand that all NATURALLY occurring isotopes of minerals/elements are good in their proper amounts.
"Minerals for the Genetic Code"
Note that EVERY mineral/element has a relationship with a specific protein in the body that enables the replication of DNA. Without the mineral/element, there are errors in DNA reproduction. One could say adaptations... though only to a point. Too severe of a deficiency leads to illnesses and eventual death.
Here are some examples From the book...
Aluminum
"Alzheimer’s disease is a consequence of aluminum in, around, and on our food supply, and in our water. …. natives of India know that turmeric added to the diet of the patient … can help reverse the syndrome…. Active ingredient is curcumin and the mineral boron." (p 79)
"aluminum drives boron down… drags all the bromine out of the equation leading to Parkinson’s syndrome." (p 107)
Note in the above quote that eliminating ALL bromine is not a good thing.
The body has a way of utilizing TRACE amounts of aluminum. However aluminum at high levels will shut down the bodies absorption process... effectively starving, nutritionally (still can be obese). Aluminum inhibits boron. It takes 3 boron molecules to neutralize one aluminum molecule. Too much aluminum will also spend silicon and Yttrium.
Yet SOME beneficial bacteria in the gut actually use aluminum. (p136-137)
Arsenic
Arsenic according to Olree is an essential trace element. In India, when WHO shut down water wells due to finding trace amounts of arsenixc in them, Olree states it led directly to as many as 3 million deaths from cancer. In addition, he states that arsenic is a "profound requirement for living systems".
A females arsenic levels must go up 10 times in order to have a male child. Without it, there is spontaneous abortion. Pine needle tea delivers enough arsenic to prevent miscarriage.
Arsenic has anti-cancer and anti-leukemia applications (p 118 -119)
Mercury and lead both appear in the Olree Biological Periodic Chart, and are figured into the table as all other minerals/elements however do not have reference in this book. I will be curious to read the second book to see if the chart is completed in it. Olree does reference all the halides though and their roles in the body. Each one has a purpose... however, balance is the key.
Get the book, and read it... even if you do not agree with all of what is being said, it is very enlightening and ties in well with known information. I cannot do it justice here.
