I hear that if you make a little sailor hat out of aluminum foil and cover your body in maple syrup and brightly colored feathers it could greatly improve your chances of being noticed by them. :)

Also, driving through the mountains on some deserted road in the middle of nowhere with noone else around could also help, as I understand it.

Seriously, though- you don't find them. They find you. The best you can hope to do is spot them for an instant, just in passing. Look to the skies, my friend.
