I got your email message asking me if I had my IUD removed.
The answer is yes, but after I had a vaginal ultrasound to locate it because it had receeded into my uterus after only 13 days and the doctor had to use a special scary-looking scissor-like instrument after opening my cervix with a speculum to remove it. The removal is not nearly as painful as the insertion. You will feel MUCH better almost immediately after removal, however it will take some time (my doctor said 1 to 2 weeks while the hormones are excreted in the urine)to feel like yourself again.
I do not feel nearly as bloated or as hopeless. In fact, almost all of my symptoms are completely gone. I am still a little depressed, but nothing like before when my hormones were in a Mirena uproar. Good luck; I am sure you too will post good news after your removal.
