Re: pyrantel pamoate

This info below is from:
http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_pyrantel_pamoate.html

"Pyrantel pamoate is effective against numerous parasitic worms:

Roundworms (of dogs)

Roundworms (of cats)

Hookworms

Stomach worms (Physaloptera species)

Pyrantel pamoate is not effective against whipworms nor is it effective against tapeworms."

I have a 60 ml. bottle of P.P. that says to use 5 m. per 10 lbs. of body weight. Therefor, for my 107 lbs, I would take 60 ml. Yikes, it seems like a lot! Does this sound consistent with the dosage you took?
P.P. works by paralizing the worms, and they are then passed out of the stool. No, it doesn't kill eggs, and should be repeated 2 weeks later to get any newly hatched worms.

Thanks!
