Tamarind, anyone?

I read somewhere that tamarind chelates fluoride? Does anyone have any experience with this?

Loose tamarind pods can be found in any Latin market. But the flesh on the pods is really tart and about the only way I can handle it is to make a tamarind drink out of it. I use stevia to sweeten it. Since it really cleansing, I have to cut the amount to avoid diarrhea.

However, I have discovered Sweet Tamarind, available in both Latin and Asian markets (and in Miami in my local Walmart). It comes in a box, and the pods are so much fatter. It seems the pods have been allowed to grow, or ripen, more, and they are much sweeter. I have found I can eat several pods at a time without diarrhea.
