Re: constipation and trouble breathing

raebear, if you haven't had a BM in 2 weeks it's essential that you deal with this immediately. Today!

You have likely developed a fecal impaction which is a dried out mass of hard stool in your rectum that prevents waste matter from exiting your colon and explains why enemas are ineffective.

The best way to deal with this is with an oil retention enema using a 6 or 8 ounce bulb syringe filled with olive oil and retained for an hour or more while lying down. If that's not possible tonight, then I would suggest going to the pharmacy and purchasing a couple of the Fleet disposable oil retention enemas and taking them, both one after the other.

After retaining them for at least an hour, take a cleansing enema. Normally I don't recommend soapsuds enemas, but in your case it may be necessary to stimulate a movement that will get past the impaction. Stir a bar of non-scented soap such as Ivory in a bowl or pitcher until the water turns a milky color and fill the bag. The water should be about 103 degrees F at preparation time.

After expelling that, follow with a full bag tapwater or salt solution enema to rinse any remaining soap solution from your colon. If this series of enemas doesn't produce satisfactory relief, repeat again tomorrow. If by Monday you are still haven't evacuated your bowel, I suggest seeking a colon therapist for a colon hydrotherapy treatment.

Good luck!

Valerie
