Re: WoWeeee, this guy is amazing

Hi you all (not southern),

First off let me ask a question that has been bothering me for months. What the hell does LOL mean? Isn't it funny, but I didn't want to admit I didn't already know what it meant. But that's the way I am. There I admitted it.
Now, what role was I playing there? The baffoon?
What I really want to talk about here is the idea of the world being a stage and we being the actors on that stage in an on going play. I ;understand the idea that we have chozen the role we play in life (the play). And that we get stuck in that role because it gives us a certain amount of security to know who we are at all times. Even if we do not particularly like who we are. That sure explains why so many of us have such low self esteem.
So it seems to me our job is to understand what role we have been playing first. Then the possibility opens up for us to decide to move on to other roles. I would think it would be a matter of practicing acting like the person we have always secretly wanted to be. For instance 'the hero' type. Or the 'really smart one' . To mention just a few that readily come to mind. Wooops! Did I reveal more than I intended?
I had a woman employee work for me one time who insisted on being the victim. As soon as she went to work she began to complain about not being paid enough; about her co- workers attitudes; her hours; her work load, etc.
The point, is we can easily see in other people how they are stuck in certain roles. But it takes some study to see our own.
About fear and anxiety: I understand that not wanting it is a sure way of being stuck in it. Allowing it ; feeling it; letting go to it, is the way to eventually escaping it. The same goes for pain. In a book "Who Dies" the author explains this well. You need to focus attention on the pain fully and keep it there and at the same time relaxing the area of pain, softening it. JD
