You are thinking about the row of Victorian Houses in Alamo Square. Alamo square is a bad area unfortunately.

The gay's are just one part of the wonderful diversity of SF. I lived in an area brimming with Chinese, Russians, Irish, Polish...etc. The artistic community is vibrant. SF is not for everyone, but it is THE place for those with an open mind about everything, race, politics, sexual orientations...

Mitchell Brothers? Never been to their theatre actually.....

When I was traveling across the country I was shocked, and sometimes appalled at what people believed SF was all about. I blame it on the media and their love of sensationalism. However, I must say, this is one of the most exciting cities on the planet.
