Re: cleansing. "Listening" to your body...

I had a conversation with someone recently who said that she just "listens to her body" in terms of what she needs to eat/do. I thought about that and realized that sick bodies are bodies we can't "listen to." I thought of this especially around Sugar addiction -- people who say they "need" carbs -- well, their sick bodies are telling them to provide sugar, they "listen" and eat or drink, and get sicker. (My body always used to "tell" me to drink alcohol, for instance -- never to a good end!)

Our bodies will endure so much poisoning, and over time the body's voice itself becomes sick, which manifests in all sorts of cravings, and which obscures the real signals it wants to tell. (Like, thirst. How many people are dehydrated and suffer incredibly for it, yet never drink a glass of water throughout the day?)

I think with enough cleansing over time, the body's real "voice" returns and it's OK to listen to it again. A lot of women hear the real voice emerge during pregnancy with thirst and with protein/heme iron cravings. But when Sugar addiction, dehydration, etc. are present, you can't trust your body to tell you a damn thing.
