TESTIMONIAL ~ Re: Current protocols??
I began w
Lugols in February. At that time another individual (also a female) who I know a good deal about and shares a significant health issue with me was also getting started.
She felt she had a reaction of some kind, but I do not recall the amount she started out using (it was more than two drops). Because of her report, I was cautious - and followed what most were suggesting to her at the time - that which was most commonly reccommended. Around 12.5mgs or two drops a day.
Within a week I had no adverse reaction at 12.5mgs. In fact, within just over a day or so my period returned. It was a milestone (had skipped over 4 at that time while tests showed I was NOT premenapausal). Within two weeks hovering between 2 - 5 drops, I noticed huge development in CNS, SNS related performance - for the better...much better. My own doctors were pretty stunned by what appeared to be some action toward recovery to them. Beyond what was anticipated from the meds dosed out, and naturals supplied. (I see an MD, a histologist/microbiologist with an ND who work together as a team - "Integrative Medicine" on their white coats.) All doctors were supportive that I had taken to Lugols. One doc (the MD) advised me to be sure I was sweating as much as possible and to incorporate naturals and other means which would assist in the detox (flushing out of the bromides, chlorides, flourides) as she said it can get rough if I did not. It never got rough. Not once.
Others were working on higher doses, and reporting great results - partiularly with cognitive function and general energy levels. At least one person had claimed that his higher doses was helping to eliminate parasites. The reports at higher doses with those coping with relatively serious issues (across the map) were very good. Only a small handful of anything in the way of negative reports coming in.
Another person who also shares health issues with me was up to at least 50mgs a day, and his reports (largely defined by Scio results) were exceptional, seemingly specific to implementing Lugols. So I cranked it up. I moved from around 20mgs to 50mgs. Still no problems, only positive results. It is extremely difficult to describe what it feels like to come back into your own body after 2 years looking at it from a distance. I was coming home.
But I was still symptomatic, still on meds, naturals and more. I bumped up to 200mgs. I cannot give a precise timeline, but this was over the course of three months. Now at over 200mgs/day for over a month. Only good things.
I have NOTHING, nada, ziltcho...zip....in the way of any negative reaction to supplementation at 200mgs and above. I believe it has assisted in my recovery, but still a ways to go. I do not look for the
Lugols to cure me, but I am convinced that my issues are compounded if not fueled by mercury, aluminum, and strontium toxicity which came up in testing. The general ability to chelate heavy metals/displant halogens on the part of
Iodine supplementing provided the essense of my interests in the beginning, and I believe supplementation has been the main impetus to my forward stride. I believe it is assisting the other efforts I make toward recovery.
I believe a person should take on this therapy cautiously. I believe starting low is or can be important. I believe everyone has his own threshold and his own need. I believe those whose results are only positive at high doses have followed instinct and intuition more than anything else - AFTER extensive reading and reseraching. I also believe those individuals have been asserting means to detox and improve their "inner terrain" PRIOR to supplementing with iodine.
I have witnessed NO ONE suggesting that ANYONE bump up to any level. This is an illusion, a falacy, an assumption made by passers by. Do what feels right. YOU WILL FEEL WAY THROUGH THIS if you allow yourself to trust your instincts, read the reccommended posts, listen to the audios, watch the videos..learn as much as possible about your body (every body) with respect to today's hyper-industrialized, sensationalized, convoluted, (bio)chemically altered environment.
Consider where you live, how you have lived - and include what you can determine into your approach with iodine.
I hope this helps shed a wee bit of light on things for you.
