Re: Vegetarians of note
I knew most of the so called ‘Vegetarians of note’ list was bogus when I read De Vinci. I just read a book about him and he ate fish everyday, and he loved beef.
I had Candida and was 170lbs overweight. I now weigh 160lbs at 5’11”, have 10% body fat, am extremely muscular and am Candida free. I followed the Atkins diet to the letter. My diet now is 40% carbs, 40% protein and 20% fat, roughly. At this point with low fat and high muscle mass my body burns fat all day long. I usually eat 9-10 servings of fruit and vegetables, a good amount of grains and plenty of meat.
My LDL (the bad one) cholesterol is 85 (100 and lower is the best) and HDL (the good one) is 84 (60 or more is good). My Blood Pressure is 115/65 (good is lower than 120/80). All these were sky high before. Atkins saved my life. I tried a vegan diet, as recommend by my doctor. I gained 35 lbs.
