Re: Understanding the Threat to Dietary Supplements

I have tried and tried and tried to get the story of natural alternatives versus prescribed medication out to no avail. I have especially tried to get the story of the incredible anti-cancer and healing powers of oleander (the main topic of one of my books) in front of the mainstream media.

The bottom line is that the world pharma empire pretty much controls the media. They have a well oiled propaganda machine, a hugely funded and effective lobby and control entire agencies, foundations and organizations. They also spend $4 Billion a year advertising their products to doctors in the media. No one is willing to offend advertisers that huge with positive stories about cheap natural alternatives or with negative stories about the Frankenstein monsters created in their labs.

I have occasionally found sympathetic ears among the media, but even in such rare instances, I am told that such stories are the baliwick of the science and medical writers and that those writers believe whatever the FDA and AMA tell them 100%.

It is a good question: how DO you combat an empire that controls so much and that spends $4 Billion each year in advertising their products to Doctors and another $16 Billion in pharmaceutical rep sales calls to doctors (over $10,000 for every doctor in the US!)?

The only way I see is spreading the truth one person, one post and one forum at a time.
