Re: beware of drug testing
"anyone who is caught supplementing
Iodine is considered prima face trying to cover up a drug problem"
At face value, there are all kinds of collateral issues here. Just sticking with the present employment issue, it speaks of an employer with an exceptionally dubious & prejudicial hire/fire (no pun) policy that mandates guilt-by-association...just taking a guess, my hunch is that this is a modern necessity in order for such a public-service employer to avoid beign constantly sued due to alleged actions / mis-actions by drugged-out employees. Depending on one's views, there is some accompanying evidence in this that may just as easily suggest - seek another employer! Submission to such a policy suggests other evidence, the kind that whispers "just bite your lips, one more time, and roll over a little more, again....it won't hurt that much". It doesn't help that there has long been dwindling, diminishing returns on employers with honest/legit hiring/firing practices & policies. Hmmmm, imagine the ramifications once the current movements in FDA and CODEX take hold; being fired for having been hopped up on cruciferous vegetables or the like ....er, um, those newly defined "drugs".
We all are put in positions to make difficult decisions, and as the case may be, to comprommise values on occasion as may seem fitting just to get by in this world. In light of this forum, it is interesting to hear about a profession that has effectively banned the use of
Iodine regardless of whether the rationale is true.
