Re: mothers day / issues

Irrational contempt for parents (assuming its irrational) is a particularly teenage thing. I dont know how old you are, or anything about you obv. But when I was younger I used to really dislike my parents, I hated their morality and their insistence on certain forms of action and belief and their constant desire to moderate and determine my life.

The older Ive got (Im only 23 now...) the more Ive realised how much I actually love them and all those feelings have faded, especially after I understood how much good parents sacrifice for their kids. Essentially, they sacrifice their individuality and their own personal hopes and dreams to become parents. They better they are, the more they have to give up (though better is a value based judgement term). They've worked SO hard to feed and clothe me and to give me more than they ever had when they were young.

Perhaps its something that comes with age? I just get the feeling from your post that you're sub-25.
