Re: Fastest way to get rid of water retention/bloat?

Hi. In short, chronic dehydration seems to play a big part of it-as I see it-I speak for myself. My body holds on tight to a water/salt balance- no matter what! I, too, have had success with water fast- dropping 30lbs. or so so in 4 days. I was sucking down alot of water, eating nothing and bike riding. This was 7 years ago. I remember feeling great. Since then, I never got into the water-drinking habit. I put the weight back on, and, consequently, my doctor diagnosed me with high blood pressure and edema.

Currently, I'm graduating from college in 3 weeks. So, I'm doing the water, drinking half my body weight in ounces. For exercise, cleaning the house and walking on the treadmill. Since January, I took a fitness class: treadmill and drinking the water-not perfectly- lost 25 lbs. I over-did it with the stomach crunches and caused a hernia.

The more water I drink, the more water I want. Common sense (and the books, authorities, etc.) tells me to keep saturating my system with water- make it a lifetime habit and keep moving.
