Here's something I believe will help anybody with UC
Cure? Who can say. I had my first bout with UC about 35 years ago, the second about 3 or 4 years ago, and the last about 1 year ago. AMA doctors like to tell you that it never goes away, and that it's just taking a vacation.
Recently while doing another alternative health modality, the practitioner told me about how much doing green drinks has helped everyone regardless of what their problem was. Also she was into eating raw, and if you do any research the people that do the raw thing swear by it, I don't think I'm ready for it, although I don't eat meat.
She recommended a book by "Victoria Boutenko" entitled "Green for life". I bought the book to see what she was talking about. This Victoria also is a raw food advocate, although she says being a raw foodist lacked something so she searched for the missing ingredient in her families lives, and it turned out to be greens in the form of green smoothies.
After reading the book, I decided to try it while I was doing more research on the idea. Purists believe that you need a powerful blender to make use of all the goodness in the seeds as well as the plant itself. You also need the fiber from the plant which you don't get from a juicer. I started out with an average blender and within three weeks found I was no longer constipated, and that my stools were the type advertised as being healthy. This post from the Humaworm forum describes the healthy stool.

I have read the same elswhere.
I bring this up because even when I didn't have full blown UC, my stools were never structured. They wern't loose, but they were in bits an pieces. The doctor said that was because my intestines were irritated and/or infected, but not to the point of UC. Since I have been doing the green smoothies, my stools are like that described in the above link. Which indicates to me (I hope) that I am getting farther away from UC than I was.
I think this will work for anybody, so I recommend you try it. You can buy the book at Amazon. com

(read the reviews - scroll down) for $9.42 + shipping, or you might find it at your local book store for $14.95, which will end up being about the same price.
I ended up buying a 3 hp blender to blend it all very fine.
